West Lothian

Artist, Joyce Clark, was born and grew up in the City of Glasgow in the west of Scotland. Being from a large working class family living in the city, it was a great treat to be taken to the seaside by train. She never forgot the magic of the sea and the sand and this fascination still shows in her work.

Now living in West Lothian, she frequently visits her sister in the Isle of Skye and heads straight for the beach to relive those magic moments of her childhood.

Joyce says "I create these scenes in acrylic and oil paints. I seek to invoke the same feelings of excitement and tranquillity in those who view my work, that I feel when confronted with these landscapes."

These prints are reproduced from original paintings by artist Joyce Clark. During her travels in her home country of Scotland, Joyce has captured many of her favourite locations using pastels, acrylics and oil paints.

I always carry my digital camera and snap views that I find compelling so that I can reproduce them in paint - like the one on the left of a black swan swimming in Drumpellier Park, Glasgow on a cold winter's day.
